When the lovely Shannon over at Pop Reads got in touch with me after she saw that I had expressed an interest in their new series of children’s books, I got so excited to have the opportunity to be one of the first of many people to read one of their fabulous books.
If you haven’t yet heard of Pop Reads, they are a brand new book company who have taken popular hit songs and turned them into colourful photo books for children. They have partnered up with Sony ATV, the world’s largest music publisher, Pop Reads have been able to use licensed songs from their back catalogue to help bring something completely unique to our children’s bookshelves.
The idea began when Jonathan, a father of a two year old little girl was reading his daughter a bedtime story.. But you can read more about his idea here
They have created six books in total:
- Perfect Day – Lou Reed ( which we were kindly gifted )
- Race for the Prize – The Flaming Lips
- I wish it could be Christmas everyday – Wizzard
- Can I kick it? – A Tribe Called Quest
- Girls just want to have fun – Cyndi Lauper
- A, B, C – The Jackson 5
A Kickstarter campaign has been launched a couple of days ago and they need our help to bring all these books to the market allowing you the opportunity to own one of these wonderful hardback books for yourself. Each book should cost no more than £8. Each backer will receive a book of choice, but they’ll also be offering extras, such as sets of books and very special editions to include the custom vinyl records.
Thank you Pop Reads for sending us one of your fabulous books. Krystabelle and I really enjoyed reading it together.
*We were kindly gifted this book to review, but all thoughts are our own.
