Reducing Your Spending on Toys This Christmas

We’re fast approaching the festive season and chances are that your mind has already turned to Christmas shopping. Now, a whole lot of spending goes on at this time of year. The majority of us want to invest in a tree, pick up little decorations for around the house, spend a little more on food shopping than we usually would, and incorporate more entertainment into our day to day routines. This all mounts up pretty quickly, and we can find our budgets becoming more and more limited in the build up to buying our little ones presents. It doesn’t tend to help that they put every single toy they’ve seen in the past twelve months on their Christmas lists! So, what can you do to reduce your spending on toys this festive season?

Shop Online

Online retailers tend to be able to offer lower prices than high street retailers. This is because their operational costs are lower. They don’t have to accommodate for commercial property rent, commercial energy bills, or extra staffing costs in their prices. Shopping online also allows you to use price comparison sites for many items. This will do the hard work of scouring the net for what you’re looking for and will present the lowest priced options to you!

Use Vouchers

Seeing as increasing numbers of us are choosing to shop online, it’s worth looking out for voucher codes and other promotional codes that can be used during different stores’ check out process. This will significantly reduce the amount that you spend in total. The infographic by Netvouchercodes below should help to give you a little more information!

We recently ran some polls on Christmas spending by parents on their children and some of the responses were crazy (£300+ per child)! It’s interesting to see some statistics on the topic.
