In this uncertain time, due the closure of all schools around the UK because of the coronavirus outbreak, many of us are finding ourselves turning to the internet for homeschooling ideas to carry on their education at home.
You never planned on home schooling, yet here you are feeling anxious wondering where the hell to start, and for many of you, you will need to juggle working from home at the same time. There’s certainly a lot to think about!
It’s natural to feel overwhelmed when suddenly there are so many uncertainties and children can behave very differently at school than at home.
I’ve managed to pull together a list of homeschooling and online education resources that might come in handy for everyone who’s planning to homeschool.
You may have seen a lot of these lists on Facebook already, lots are being shared about by the home education community.
Please note, some of these are free and some you have to pay for however many of them are offering some if not all resources for free during this time when schools are closed.
Twinkl – home learning packs for each year group. They are currently offering a free months subscription so remember to get on it!
Reading Eggs – an online resource which makes learning to read interesting and engaging for kids, with great reading games and activities.
Science Sparks – If you’re looking for a great science experiment, Science Sparks is bursting with easy science experiments for kids of all ages.

BrainPOP – BrainPOP is here to help you and your curious learners stay informed and on track with free access during school closures.
National Geographic Kids – This is where you can discover some of the coolest facts for kids from around our planet. From animals and geography to science, nature and history.
Phonics Play – Find lots of games and ideas to explore with children at home.
Cool Math For Kids – Coolmath4Kids is an amusement park of games, lessons and more, designed to teach math and make it FUN.
DK Find Out – Find loads of educational videos, activities and quizzes on all sorts of topics for kids.
The Kid Should See This – Smart videos for curious minds of all ages.
Crickt Software – Engaging resources on a wide range of curriculum topics to kick-start writing.
